Frequently asked questions

Planning your environmental monitoring program?

Answers to common questions while Fieldglass Laboratories is in development.

Is Fieldglass Laboratories currently accepting samples?

Fieldglass Laboratories expects to begin receiving samples shortly after its facilities, methods, and operating procedures are ready. We are preparing for launch and welcome inquiries now. Contact us to be notified when sample acceptance begins; a firm opening date has not yet been announced.

What testing services are planned?

Initial planning focuses on ATP sanitation verification and environmental microbiological indicator testing, including yeast and mold, coliforms, and Enterobacteriaceae. The final service menu depends on method development, verification or validation as applicable, facilities, and other operational requirements.

Where will Fieldglass provide services?

Fieldglass plans to serve food businesses in the Salt Lake City area, including on-site collection and customized environmental monitoring plans. Specific geographic coverage and scheduling will be confirmed as the laboratory opens.

Will Fieldglass collect samples on site?

Yes. On-site sample collection will be a core part of our service. Fieldglass plans to work with each client to develop a facility-specific environmental monitoring plan, identify sampling locations and schedules, and collect samples directly—reducing the work your team needs to manage. Collection will begin once operations launch.

How quickly will results be available?

Turnaround times (TAT) have not yet been established. Our goal is to offer timelines comparable to other testing laboratories, with opportunities for faster overall service because a dedicated Fieldglass representative will collect samples on site rather than requiring clients to arrange shipping. Actual TAT will depend on the test and validated or verified methods and will be published before sample acceptance.

Is the laboratory accredited?

Fieldglass Laboratories is not currently accredited. We intend to pursue ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation after the laboratory is established and its methods and quality system are ready. Any future accreditation status and scope will be communicated clearly; accreditation is not guaranteed.

Does contacting Fieldglass commit my business to anything?

No. Submitting an inquiry is simply a way to discuss potential needs and receive a response. It does not create a service agreement or guarantee availability.
